What Is Yoga?

Yoga is the traditional way of making your body fit. Yoga asanas not only gives strength to body but also relieves the tension. At beginning go slowly, and listen to the body. Never push your body, if it says stop, so stop. Yoga is not a competitive sport. There are lots of yoga asanas. Every asana has its own unique benefits.

“Sukhasana” is a starting position which helps to focus awareness on breathing and the body. It helps to strengthen lower back. “Savasana” (corpse pose), it is considered as a classic relaxation yoga pose and is considered as a classic relaxation yoga pose and is practiced before or in between Asanas and final relaxation.

Supine poses include wind relieving pose (Pavanamuktasana). It works mainly on the digestive system. It helps in eliminating the excess gas in the stomach. Single leg raises pose is performed to prepare the body for other exercises. It benefits the legs, lower back muscles and abdominal area.

“Trikonasana” is a standing pose. The triangle is a potent symbol for divine principle, and is frequently found in yantras and mandalas used for the meditation. The Trikonasana or triangle pose concludes the yoga postures in basic session. Twist yoga poses is also called Marichi’s yoga pose, the Sage Twist pose benefits the abdominal organs and spine. You must avoid the asana if you have any chronic spine or back injury.

“Matsyasana” is the fish pose. Doing the fish pose relieves stiffness of neck and shoulder muscles and improves flexibility of the spine. It is the counter pose of the shoulderstand. Hold the fish pose for some time.
